MSSPI visits The Gulf Ordinance Factory with MMPS by Angela L. MSSPI

On October 17, 2009 MSSPI had the pleasure of working with Mystic Mississippi Paranormal Society in Amory Ms and two members of the Mississippi SPARS chapter, on investigating the Gulf Ordinance Factory. This was an amazing place full of both World War II era history, as well as, Civil War history.

Jen & Terry- Founders of Mystic were gracious enough to invite us to spend an evening with them researching this awesome place.

The Gulf Ordinance Factory was built in the early 1940's in order to manufacture bombs and shells for the war. There was at least one casualty from that time era. It was reported to us by Mystic that a female factory nurse was killed when a shell exploded on accident. This is the only known death to take place during the factories active use. There are however, reports from Mystic that the factory was built in a hurry , the land was not surveyed properly or it was somehow ignored that a Civil War battle had been fought on the property and the dead soldiers were buried where they fell in unmarked graves. Mystic reported previous activity such as shadow figures, unexplained noises and lights, footsteps, disembodied voices , full body apparitions etc...

Several EVP were recorded in the Tunnel, which was a very dark place. Tony, Angie , Jen and James from the MSSPI team investigated the tunnels with Terry & part of his team from Mystic. There were several K2 meter hits, muffled sounds of voices, footsteps and Angela had a personal experience of smelling the strong smell of dirty motor oil which faded after a few seconds and we were not able to determine where the smell came from. There were reports from the MSSPI team of several instances of members seeing a shadow move near the tunnel entrance near the white baracade. the folowing photos are being posted for review of what appears to be the face of a young man near the entrance of the Tunnel. You can view these photos in more detail in our MSSPI photo gallery and leave your comments there.

Upon entering the Tunnel we had to walk through a few inches of water that had collected in the tunnel from recent rain. The above photo was lightened using gamma correct at 150 due to the darkness in the tunnel. This photo is not about the orbs in the photo but what appears to be behind the white baracade in the distance. The next to frames of the same area where clear.

A few minutes into the investigation of the Tunnel, sounds were heard near the tunnel entrance and Angela L snapped the following photo: It appears to be very similar to the figure seen in the first photo.

This photo was taken from the other direction facing out of the Tunnel.

While David & Shelly from MSSPI investigated the Tunnel with Jen of Mystic and the girls from SPARS, Tony & Angela's team headed upstairs to the second floor. A quick ghost box and evp session was conducted. There were several hits on the emf meter and some responses on the ghost box. There were also reports of seeing a dark shadow mass move from the front corner towards where we were standing, then backing away slowly, We were unable to capture this image on our photos.

Upon investigating the second floor of the Gulf Ordinance main building with all the MSSPI, SPARS members , members of the Mystic Team conducted a ghost box session ( aka..shack hack) but they also incorporated 1940's  & Civil War era music, played on a boombox in between ghost box sessions. This was a first time experience using the ghost box for a few of the MSSPI Team members and was a very educational and exciting experience. Some members of the MSSPI team reported smelling the strong smell of beer in a concentrated area, this was also confirmed by members from SPARS & MMPS.  Some investigators present reported seeing a dark shadow figure pass by the entrance door, there were K2 hits, motion detectors triggered, personal experiences of being touched or brushed up against as well as a very unusual photo taken by a SPARS member. We have posted this photo in our MSSPI Photo Gallery, you can comment on it there. Below are EVP recorded in the Gulf Armory Tunnel, we also have a very extensive Ghost Box session which we will post portions of as time permits, it is still in editing.

Click Here to listen to Do it yourself recorded during a K2 session where it was asked if anyone could make the lights on the meter light up.

Click Here to listen to Please Take us Home  recorded in the tunnel after we had announced we were leaving, there was also a high spike on our K2 at the same time this was recorded.

Click Here to Listen to a name spoken recorded after asking if anyone could tell us their name.

Click Here to listen to You Tempt Me recorded after the question was asked if they could make the lights light up again.

Click Here to listen to Strike Two  recorded after a failed attempt at a K2 session.

We recorded numerous other EVP at the Gulf Tunnel but we selected a few that we thought were the most clear and easy to hear. In total we recorded 29 possible evp clips in the tunnel alone.  Some were whispers and things we could not understand.

All in all this was a great experience, we had a wonderful time working with the Mystic Mississippi Team and the members from SPARS and we look forward to investigating the Gulf Ordinance Factory again in the future as well as working with Mystic & SPARS of future cases.  Our data is still in review so, so we will add anything further we find as it becomes available.
